In systems spread over wide geographical areas, such as industrial facilities, energy transmission lines, or water treatment plants, the greatest challenge is delivering data to the main center quickly and reliably. In such projects where cable distances extend for kilometers, standard PLC solutions may sometimes be insufficient. At this point, RTU Panels (Remote Terminal Units), which collect and process field data and transmit it to the main center (SCADA), come into play.
As Şalt Otomasyon, we design and install RTU panels that eliminate distances, are resistant to harsh field conditions, and possess uninterrupted communication protocols.
The greatest advantage of RTU systems is that they do not just transmit data but can also manage the field with local intelligence. The RTU panels we install support industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, IEC 60870-5-101/104, or DNP3, ensuring seamless harmony with the main SCADA system.
Thanks to these panels, you can instantaneously monitor critical data (current, voltage, pressure, temperature) at unmanned points such as pump stations, transformer substations, or wind turbines, and intervene in the field by sending commands from the center. To ensure data security, we integrate these systems into high-security networks via server control panels.
RTU units are generally positioned outdoors or in dusty/humid industrial environments. Therefore, during the panel manufacturing process, we prefer cabinets with IP65 and higher protection classes equipped with climate control systems. In the internal hardware of our panels, we apply battery-backed systems against power outages and shock-resistant local control panel standards.
